The eight National Merit Semifinalists

Each year students across the country participate in a competition for recognition and scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Program. Students qualify for the program through taking the PSAT, and meeting program entry requirements.

From the over 1.6 million entrants, around 50,000 students with the highest selection index scores qualify for recognition as either a Commended student or Semifinalist.

Sometime in February, finalists will be chosen from the group of Semifinalists, and then they may be chosen later in the year for one of three types of scholarships.

This year LHS has eight students that have been recognized as Semifinalists. They are Theodora Ciobanu, Aedan Davis, Blake Delisa, Annika Jackson, Abigail Kennedy, Sylvie Lamontagne, Noah LeBlanc, and Katherine Yu. We also get to honor 13 Commended Students.

The 2020 Commended students are:
Emory Clark, Sienna Kopf, Joel Luciano, Margaret Mcilvain, Elizabeth Mcpherson, Ian Morton, Madeline Murphy, Dominic Perez, Lucy Preston, Keller Rizzo, Leda Sugnet, Malena Toups, and Qin Xiao Wu.

Congratualtions Tigers!
