A branch of the Amnesty International organization which fights for human rights and democracy globally. In our club, we look for problems in our own community and beyond which we can help support through varying campaigns. In the past we have done drives to create better mental health resources for students, fundraising drives to help support Ukrainian refugees in our community, as well as voter registration initiatives.

Do you enjoy debating? Do you enjoy working with a team? Are you interested in the law or being a lawyer? If so, Mock Trial is the activity for you! Mock Trial gives students the opportunity to participate in a competitive legal drama (sponsored by the Colorado Bar Association). Lawyers and witnesses prepare a case for formal competition, where teams from different schools put on a trial, held in real courtrooms.

Students serve as both attorneys and witnesses. With the help of teachers and coaches, Mock Trial competitors develop trial strategy, determine what questions to ask the witnesses, and deliver opening statements and closing arguments. Instead of a jury, a scoring panel awards points and at the end of the trial, the team with the most points wins. High school mock trial helps students to develop public speaking, teamwork and critical-thinking skills in a fun and challenging environment.

The Colorado High School Cycling League consists of teams from over the Rocky Mountains with participating schools in Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Composite teams are area-based teams with several schools working together. The Lakewood High School Mtn Biking Team fosters healthy habits in youth, develops self-confidence, cultivates leadership, and builds community in a welcoming environment that strengthens family bonds and empowers youth through interscholastic mountain bike racing.

Colorado Technology Student Association

Ultimate Frisbee (a sport with aspects of football, soccer, and basketball but with a frisbee) is an incredibly spirited sport that has lower commitment than other sports but is still competitive and allows you to play teams all over the state. You don’t need any experience to join! Just a willingness to learn!

Ultimate Frisbee has practice at Washington Heights Park from 4:00-6:15 pm Monday-Thursday during our seasons.
