Attendance Policy

  • In order for students to be successful in this class, it is essential that they attend class every day. The Lakewood High School attendance policy will be followed.
  • If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to find out what was missed and complete the make-up work within 2 days of absence.

    Homework Policy

  • In order for students to be successful in this class, it is crucial that homework be completed on a consistent basis. Assignments will be checked daily at the beginning of the class period they are due.  Please use the website to find homework you have missed.

    Tests/Quizzes

  • If a student is absent on a test/quiz day, it is that student’s responsibility to schedule a make-up time.

Extra Help and Extra Credit:

  • Students should take full advantage of the Study Deck and my office hours to get extra help on assignments and to study for tests.
  • Extra credit is extremely rare.

Teacher Expectations:  At this level of course, it is expected that students are working towards becoming self-advocates.  I will not seek students out to let them know about missing assignments or low grades.  All of this can be accessed online and should be checked on a regular basis.  Anything that appears to be incorrect should be brought to my attention so that I can verify and make corrections, if needed.  Likewise, if there is a concept or skill that students feel behind or confused on, it is the student’s responsibility to come to me and get extra help and clarification.  My goal is for all students to succeed in this class.  Part of that success is taking ownership and becoming responsible for your own grade.

Student Expectations:  Students can expect me to be on time and prepared to teach each day.  I will provide a safe and fun learning environment, where students can feel free to speak up, make mistakes and grow in their math skills.  I will grade things in a timely manner and have grades posted frequently.  My teacher website will change regularly.  Check it out.  It’s a great resource for the class!

It’s a great day to be a Lakewood Tiger!
