About Me:

I have been living in Colorado for 16 years. I came here from Florida where I lived and taught for 6 years. I grew up in Rhode Island and went to college in Connecticut. I have always had a great love of everything outdoors. The only thing I miss here in Colorado is the ocean, which had always been a big part of my life growing up.
You can see my boys Adrian (9) and Sebastian (6) in the picture above. Both boys are very different but manage to find a few common interests to keep them from fighting too much. Adrian is a junior weather watcher for channel 4 and certified NOAA storm spotter. He loves everything weather related, but tornadoes are his true passion. He started 4th grade this year. Sebastian is really interested in snakes at the moment and really wants to catch a venomous snake, but promises to wait until properly trained (probably a good idea after being bitten twice so far by garter snakes). Sebastian is super shy and sensitive which is why he is really scared about starting 1st grade this year after being in half day kindergarten last year.
My wife Erika is currently a stay at home mom. She was a Science and Spanish teacher before staying at home with the boys for the last 8 years. We have been married for 11 years and enjoy spending as much time as we can as a family.
This is my 16th year at LHS. This is my 22nd year teaching. I have been teaching Earth Science all those years and this will be my third year teaching physics. This is the second year we are offering the semester of Honors Earth/Space Science along with a semester of Biology Honors. I am looking forward to collaborating with my colleagues in developing the new curriculum that will incorporate PBL (Project Based learning) and NGSS (Next generation Science Standards) to better prepare students
to apply scientific knowledge to unique situations and be able to think and reason scientifically.
